Eat Bulaga became “Eat Beluga” or beluga, referring to a type of whale.
“I’ve never heard of Eat Beluga,” one participant said. “Unless you’re referring to eating whale,” his female companion countered.
One man seemed to make sense of the show despite the lack of English subtitles.
“We’re watching an unlikely couple going through the early stages of a romance, the awkward stage, where it’s like how do I communicate? Should I text? No, wait, I’ll send her a Dubsmash,” he said.
Despite the language barrier, some of the participants seemed to have enjoyed the show.
“Eat Baluga is coming to the States,” one of them joked. KS/CDG
