Joey de Leon reacts to Vice Ganda’s ‘real and organic’ FB post

Actor-comedian and “Eat Bulaga” mainstay Joey de Leon has reacted to Vice Ganda’s post on Facebook, where the “It’s Showtime” host thanked netizens for generating 6.33 million tweets for the hashtag #ShowtimeKapamilyaDay during its 6^th anniversary show last Saturday.

“Isang malaking EXCUSE ME lang, HINDI real and organic ang isang bagay na KINOPYA lang. Iba ‘yung developing naturally #ALDUBThisMustBeLove,” De Leon said in a tweet on Monday.

De Leon made the comment amid stiff competition between the noontime show in the ratings war, following the surging popularity of Eat Bulaga’s hit “Kalyeserye” segment and its on-screen loveteam “AlDub,” played by actor Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza or “Yaya Dub.”

AlDub broke its Twitter record last Saturday after Richards and Mendoza’s second date generated 25.6 million tweets.

Amid speculations that some AlDub tweets were fake, Vice Ganda said the buzz that Showtime created on Twitter was a proof that the show was truly being talked about on social media.

“Patunay lamang na TOTOOng pinag-uusapan sa social media ang @itsshowtimeofficial_ig at mga Kapamilya Stars na naging bahagi ng ANIMversary Kick-off ng programa. Maraming Salamat, mga Kapamilya!” the comedian said on Saturday.

De Leon has been very vocal in defending AlDub against bashers online, even reacting to a tweet of Broadway star Lea Salonga about “shallowness.” YG
