Almost, but not just yet.
On what could have been their first meeting on Wednesday, “Yaya Dub” just had a glimpse of Alden Richards, her fictional one, true love.
Nicomaine Dei “Yaya Dub” Mendoza and Alden Richards play as starcrossed lovers on “Eat Bulaga’s” segment “Kalyeserye,” though their characters have never met before and they only interact on-screen.
The lover’s fledgling romance is being hindered by Yaya Dub’s boss “Lola Nidora” portrayed by Wally Bayola.

In a Cinderella-inspired performance for the “Bulaga Pa More” segment of the noontime show, Yaya Dub hit the stage dancing waltz, twirling a baton, strutting to “Watch Me (Nae Nae) and doing what she does best—“Dubsmashing.”
She competed with the show’s “Happy Birthday Girl” Patricia Matulak.
While she was performing, Alden had to take on the challenge of Lola Nidora by filling an over-sized tank with water.
When he was finished doing so, he immediately ran to the studio hoping to see Yaya Dub. But to no avail.
Similar to the fairytale, Yaya Dub had to run away before the clock struck 12 or she would turn into a squash, a spell cast by Wally who is now playing the role of an evil queen.
He tried to chase Yaya Dub, but she had already left and later climbed on a jeepney while still wearing her blue ball gown.
At one point, Alden, completely drenched, was shown holding the shoe left by Yaya Dub on stage, looking devastated over the botched meeting.
Netizens went crazy on social media, expressing their mixed emotions on the botched meeting. The hashtag #AlDubMayBeThisTime became an instant top trending topic in the Philippines and worldwide, garnering over 900,000 tweets as of writing. IDL
