Heart’s parents had dinner at Escudero home…without the Senator

Parents and their estranged daughter finally broke bread but without the cheese, or rather, Chiz.
Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said on Tuesday that slowly but surely, he and his wife’s parents are starting to fix whatever conflicts they have had in the past.
Escudero confirmed what his wife, actress Heart Evangelista, recently posted on Instagram. They are photos of her and her parents, Rey and Cecile Ongpauco, having dinner at the Escudero household.
“Maayos naman yung dinner nila (They had a nice dinner),” he told reporters when asked about the dinner.
Asked why he wasn’t present, he said he had a prior engagement but when he went home, the Ongpaucos were still there and he still had a chance to meet his in-laws.
“Pero maganda ‘yung nangyayari. Kung ano mang gusot meron noon, naayos unti-unti na ngayon. Ayokong maunsyami kaya haayaan na muna nating ganun (What happened was good. Past conflicts were slowly sorted out this time. I don’t want to preempt things so I let the situation as it is,” he added.
The senator refused to give further details about the visit. He said what is more important is that it went well and that it was going to the right direction.
“Sana magpatuloy ‘yun at buo ang pag-asa ko na maututuloy nang ganun yun (Let us hope it will continue that way and I have full faith that it will,” Escudero added.
In can be recalled that Heart’s disapproving parents accused the senator in March 2013 of being disrespectful and arrogant, and “manipulating” their daughter into “going against her family.”
