2015 Binibining Pilipinas candidates slay runway in swimsuits

MANILA, Philippines—The 34 official candidates of the 2015 Binibining Pilipinas strutted the runway during the anticipated press presentation held at Sunset Pavilion in Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila on Tuesday.
The candidates were introduced as they sashayed the ramp in red swimsuits before an audience composed of celebrities, previous titleholders and beauty pageant aficionados.
This year’s roster is composed of seasoned beauty contest hopefuls, with some qualifying for Binibining Pilipinas for the third time such as Pia Wurtzbach, Toni Alyessa Hipolito, Patricia Lae Ejercitado and Hannah Ruth Sison.
Winwyn Marquez, the daughter of celebrity couple Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez, is also a candidate for this year’s Binibining Pilipinas. Miss International 1979 and actress Melanie Marquez attended the event to support her “humble” niece.
“Wyn, all the way ako sa ‘yo (I’m with you all the way), full support. I do believe that you are a born winner and beauty queen,” she said in an interview during the sidelines of the event.
She also coined a “quotable quote” for Winwyn.
“They cannot judge you because you are not a book. You are born to be a beauty queen,” the former beauty queen said.
The prestigious beauty tilt, which is now on its 52nd edition, picks the nation’s representative in the Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Tourism Queen International competitions.
The coronation night will be held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on March 15. AJH
