Veteran comedienne Tia Pusit, 66

MANILA, Philippines—Comedienne Tia Pusit died Thursday night, TV reports said Thursday.

In the past few weeks, the 66-year-old Tia Pusit’s (Myrna Villanueva in real life) condition has reportedly gone to worse after her double bypass surgery.

In a statement released to the media a couple of weeks ago Christian Uybengkee, her son, said Tia Pusit had two episodes of stroke, blood clots with little brain activity and her kidney was “failing rapidly.”

Tia Pusit was confined at the Philippine Heart Center. Details of interment are yet to be announced.

Among the more than a dozen movies she acted in “A Journey Home” (2009), “Bakit ba Ganyan (Ewan ko nga ba, Darling)” (2000), “Huwag na Huwag kang Lalapit Darling” (1997) and “Hulihin si…Nardong Toothpick (1990).
