BIR files tax rap vs Warner Music PH officials

MANILA, Philippines—The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Thursday filed tax evasion complaint with the Department of Justice against officials of Warner Music Philippines.

Named in the complaint are Warner Music Philippines president Ying Chong Wong and treasurer Cheolette Contreras.

Warner is a domestic corporation engaged in the business of import, manufacture, sale, distribution, exploitation, reproduction marketing and promotion of all kinds of products and services related to music and entertainment activities.

In its complaint Ying and Contreras were slapped with a complaint for taxable year 2005.

The tax deficiency is worth P118.32 million.
