MANILA, Philippines – Neri Naig on Sunday revealed that she locked herself in her room for two weeks and just wanted to disappear, after learning that a sex video involving her and boyfriend Chito Miranda was leaked online.
Addressing the incident for the first time, the actress said in a statement sent to Philippine Daily Inquirer, “I am not yet ok, but I am getting there.”
“As soon as I found out that our video went viral, I sent a message to my family agad [right away] and for two weeks, nagkulong lang ako sa room ko [I locked myself in my room] and just wanted to disappear. I didn’t want to see or talk or hear from anyone,” Naig explained.
The television actress devoted most of her written statement thanking people who supported and defended her and the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist.
She said Miranda had asked her to watch footages of news and television shows which she said were “fair and unbiased” and had helped “ease the pain.”
Naig also thanked the National Bureau of Investigation for immediately addressing the incident, even before they filed the case.
“Kung pwede lang po talagang yakapin lahat ng tao na umalalay, nagpakita ng pagmamahal at support sa amin ni Chito…Maraming maraming salamat po [If I could only hug everyone who helped and supported Chito and I. We’re very thankful],” she said.
