Heard: Dream role, dream cast

Angel Aquino

Actress Angel Aquino on her drama series “Ikaw Lamang” on ABS-CBN: “I’m grateful to have been given a role I can call my own; Rebecca Marivelez is not as wicked as my costar Cherie Gil’s character (Miranda Hidalgo). Afternoon delight with a hunk

JC DE Vera says costar Meg Imperial is “lovable, prim and proper.”

JC de Vera, Ellen Adarna and Meg Imperial promise to make our summer afternoons hotter  in ABS-CBN’s  daring new series, “Moon of Desire” (premieres today after “It’s Showtime”).   Talk about afternoon delight! It’s a compelling story about love, lies and finding true beauty.   I personally think that JC is underrated as an actor. [...]

Confluence of mixed emotions

By
RAIKKO Mateo had to mouth “grown-up” dialogue.

The final telecast of “Honesto” earlier this month was a confluence of mixed emotions for us. We felt sad for Joel Torre, whose originally just jovially larcenous character had to transmogrify himself into a really evil super-monster in order for the series’ rapidly escalating and complicating plot and subplots to “satisfyingly” hit the required heights of clangorously concluding conflict and crisis!

The transfer that wasn’t

NETWORK spokesperson says Kris Aquino (in file photo from the MMFF awards show on Dec. 27) is set to renew contract with ABS-CBN on Tuesday. ARNOLD ALMACEN

As of posting time (Friday, January 10), no one really knows if she’s coming (back to her home network) or going. This is by far the most mystifying contract-renewal watch we’ve been made unwitting participants of. That’s especially because the details are either jolting or vague, and the sources are either unnamed or ambiguous.
