Big Bang will not hold a surprise concert, according to YG Entertainment on Monday, citing safety concerns as the reason for scrapping its plans.

“The surprise concert, slated to be held this week, is officially canceled,” YG Entertainment said in a statement.

The secret plans, however, were disclosed by Star News on Thursday. Safety concerns arose on worries that the “expected” surprise concert might draw an unmanageably large audience.

YG Entertainment added it will soon draw up another plan to celebrate the boy band’s 10th anniversary.

Big Bang, made up of G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung and Seungri, debuted in 2006 with the single “Bigbang.”
