GMA reveals 4 actresses who will play major roles in ‘Encantadia’

Fans of the much-celebrated fantasy series “Encantadia” are treated to a special surprise after the GMA Network revealed on Monday the actresses who will play as four main characters of the series.

As announced through the primetime newscast 24Oras, the new Sang’gres or royal bloods are Kylie Padilla (Amihan), Gabbi Garcia (Alena), Sanya Lopez (Danaya) and Glaiza de Castro (Pirena).

The four will reprise the roles originally portrayed by Iza Calzado, Karylle Tatlonghari-Yuzon, Diana Zubiri and Sunshine Dizon, respectively.

The other members of the cast are Marian Rivera, John Arcilla, Rocco Nacino, Solenn Heussaff, Ruru Madrid, Rochelle Pangilinan, Pancho Magno, Carlo Gonzales, Klea Pineda, Noel Urbano and Migo Adecer.

More than 10 years since it was first aired, Encantadia tells the story of the royal sisters who strives to keep the balance of their magical realm by protecting their elemental gemstones of air, water, earth and fire.
