Actor Jake Ejercito honored the memory of Kian Delos Santos, one of the victims of the war on drugs, after former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday for his crimes against humanity.
On his social media pages, Ejercito shared Delos Santos’ photograph with the text, “Tama na po! Tama na po (Please stop. Please stop). May test pa po ako bukas (I still have an exam tomorrow),” which pertains to the last words of the then 17-year-old before he was gunned down in an anti-drug operation in Caloocan almost eight years ago.
In his caption, Ejercito wrote, “Ang mali ay may bayad, at ngayon na ang singilan (Every wrong has a consequence and this time is the payback),” seemingly referring to Duterte’s recent arrest.

In the comments section, netizens echoed Ejercito’s sentiments, by emphasizing that “justice is now being served” as Duterte is now in custody.
“This is why I admire you, Jake Ejercito! You speak up. You put your name and your profession on the line no matter what the cost. We need more people like you in the entertainment industry. Time for justice!” wrote one netizen.
“Kaya mahal kita (This is why I love you) Jake Ejercito eh. Justice is being served right in front of us,” added another netizen.

In August 2017, Delos Santos was fatally shot and despite the claims that he fought back (nanlaban) with witness accounts and CCTV footage telling otherwise, three police officers were later found guilty of Murder.
Delos Santos is joined by fellow teenagers Carl Arnaiz and Reynaldo de Guzman who were killed during the course of the Philippine drug war under the presidency of Duterte.
