Song Hye-kyo, Gong Yoo in talks for new TV series
Korean stars Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo are reportedly in discussion to star in a new TV series written by “Our Blues” scriptwriter and will be helmed by “Coffee Prince” director.
Both of the actors’ talent agencies confirmed this, as per a statement obtained by Korean media outlet Soompi.
“We received the synopsis and project proposal from the production company of the new project. The actress is positively reviewing the offer,” Song’s agency UAA said.
“It is true that Gong Yoo has received an offer for Noh Hee-kyung’s new project,” Gong’s talent company likewise stated, referring to the project scriptwriter. “He is currently reviewing it.”
The upcoming project is reportedly a modern historical drama about the broadcasting industry and the people “who passed through a turbulent historical tunnel and experienced the birth of South Korea’s entertainment industry.”

Further details on the project including the title and release date have yet to be revealed as of this writing.
Production company Studio Dragon also dismissed earlier claims that the project’s production cost was around $2.2 million per episode, and that the total production cost for 20 to 24 episodes was nearly $58.2 million.
“[The drama] is still in the early stages of planning, so the production cost has not been decided. Casting and [the number of] episodes are all undecided,” it said.
