BINI explains why EP ‘Talaarawan’ will drop on International Women’s Day
P-pop girl group BINI disclosed that the release date — which falls on International Women’s Day — of their upcoming EP “Talaarawan” is meant to be a celebration of their advocacy for women empowerment.
On Valentine’s Day, BINI announced that their first EP will be released on March 8 during a Valentine’s Day event. When asked by ABS-CBN News in an interview if the release date was an intentional move on their part, the leader Jhoanna said it was a conscious decision as it’s meant to be a “gift” for their fans.
“Napili namin [ang date na ‘to] kasi feeling namin, ang March 8 is a celebration at regalo para sa mga Blooms namin (We chose this date because we feel that March 8 is a celebration and this would be a gift for our Blooms),” Jhoanna said, referring to their dedicated legion of fans.
Mikha, on the other hand, said BINI pushes for women’s empowerment, saying they always wanted to inspire fellow women with their music.
“Our advocacy is women empowerment. We always want to inspire women, and not just women, but we [want to] make sure that people feel confident in their skin. That’s why I think that March 8 is the perfect date,” she said.

Hindi lang sa family, friends, and hopefully, ma-feel din ng Blooms na para kaming diary nila na pwede nilang pag-open up and ma-feel nila ‘yung comfort sa bawat songs na ire-release namin,” she said.
