P-pop girl group BINI to drop first EP ‘Talaarawan’

P-pop girl group BINI — which is making waves with their smash hit “Pantropiko” — is set to drop their first EP “Talaarawan” on March 8, label Star Music confirmed.

Star Music announced BINI’s new record on its official X (formerly Twitter) page on Wednesday, Feb. 14, shortly after the P-pop act hosted a Valentine’s Day event for fans.

“Dear Blooms, the wait is over! BINI’s 1st EP is finally coming! Thank you sa pagwait ha? Game kayo (Thank you for waiting, alright? Are you ready)? Love, BINI,” its post read.

In a separate post, the label confirmed the EP’s title as “Talaarawan,” which means “diary” in English.

“Thank you, Blooms, for the overwhelming support you’ve given our Nation’s Girl Group! Given the safety precautions we had to take, @BINI_ph was able to interact with you all for a limited time. Don’t worry, we’ll still have more chances to see each other for #Talaarawan,” it wrote.

Star Music confirmed in a follow-up post on Thursday, Feb. 15 that the record will be released on March 8.

As of this writing, details about the EP’s concept and tracklist are yet to be disclosed.

Dubbed the “Nation’s Girl Group,” BINI consists of Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena. The girl group debuted in June 2021 with the single “Born to Win.”

The P-pop act is best known for their songs “Pantropiko,” “Karera,” “Da Coconut Nut,” “Lagi,” and “Na Na Na,” among others.

Red Velvet’s Irene takes on ‘Pantropiko’ challenge

On the same day, Red Velvet’s Irene caught the attention of fans after an X fan account, going by the username @baechustokki, shared a clip of the K-pop idol dancing along to BINI’s hit song “Pantropiko” during a fan call.

“I mentioned how [Irene] was always doing Tiktok challenges during ‘Chill Kill’ era and asked if she [could] do the ‘Pantropiko’ challenge by @BINI_ph and showed her @bini_aiah’s video doing the challenge,” the post read.

The video also delighted BINI’s Sheena and Aiah, while Maloi, Colet, and Jhoanna reposted the clip on their social media accounts.
