JC Alcantara admits selling bread to earn extra income as a kid
Actor JC Alcantata unabashedly admitted that as a kid he sold bread to earn his keep and help his family back in Nueva Ecija.
Alcantara’s revelation came during an exclusive zoom conference for the cast of “Tara, G!” last December 2.
“Mga six years old ako, kasama ko ang kuya ko, nagtinda kami ng tinapay sa Nueva Ecija. Kasi ang thinking ko lang doon before, para sa sarili ko ay makabili ako. Kahit ano lang, makapagbigay ako sa family ko,” Alcantara said. (I was six years old then, I was with my elder brother, we sold bread in Nueva Ecija. My mindset then was for me to be able to buy what I want. I want to be able to give something to my family.)
Later, Alcantara realized that the situation he was with should not continue so he found ways to help his family and to fend for himself.
“And then noong tumatagal na, na-realize ko na ayaw kong maging ganito kami balang araw. Nag-pageant ako noong mga fourteen ako. Nakatulong siya sa akin. ‘Yung kinikita ko ay ibinibigay ko sa family ko,” he said. (And then when it went on, I realized that I don’t want to stay like that in the future. I did pageants when I was fourteen. It helped me. The earnings I got, I gave it to my family).
