Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters proudly gave a glimpse of her progress in getting a healthier body, eight months since she welcomed her first child.
The beauty queen showed a side-by-side comparison of herself in a two-piece bikini two months after giving birth and eight months post-partum, as seen on her Instagram page last Sunday, June 26.
“Photos are [two vs. eight] months post-partum and I’m pretty freakin’ proud of myself but beyond the physical changes, working with coach Pat has done so much more for my mental health, so if you’ve been thinking about looking for a coach to guide you on your fitness journey—this is your sign!” she told fans.
Peters stressed that talking about her fitness journey is not about “bouncing back,” as she believes it is not a mother’s priority. Instead, she only wants to “give credit where credit is due.”
“I workout not with the goal of going back to my pre-pregnancy weight or measurements but to be the healthiest, strongest [version] of myself for my daughter,” she said, adding that her daughter Kaia is getting heavier.
Peters highlighted the importance of consistency, guidance from a coach, and a schedule as the “key” to her fitness journey.
“Being able to fit into some of my clothes again has also been motivation because I hate spending money,” she quipped.

Peters is married to Camarines Sur governor Migz Villafuerte. They tied the knot in a civil ceremony in July 2021, after seven years together. The couple welcomed their baby Kaia in October last year. /ra
