Glaiza de Castro opted for a more physical way of touring her husband, Irish businessman David Rainey, in the country, by going on a Spartan Race in Baguio and finishing a 10-kilometer trail run.
De Castro talked about their journey of finishing the race despite lack of training, as per her Instagram page yesterday, March 19.
“We did a [10-kilometer] trail run today. Honestly it felt more like a trek to me as there were so many uphills. I gave my all on the first and after reaching the top, I suddenly felt faint (this happens to me when I haven’t been working out),” she said. “This didn’t happen once, I was surprised to see more uphills and then I started singing ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus in my head for more motivation.”
But seeing her fellow runners’ motivation to finish the race inspired her to push through despite struggles.
“It’s amazing how nature can give us comfort in times of hardship if you can just stop for a while and breathe it all in. I felt almost emotional when we got to the finish line,” the actress stated.
