Matteo Guidicelli marks one year of marriage with Sarah Geronimo
One year after an unexpected wedding, Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo are still enjoying marital bliss.
Guidicelli marked their first year as a married couple with a family photo of them with their dogs on Instagram yesterday, Feb. 20.
“Love, HAPPY 1st year anniversary!! Look at our family!” the actor wrote. “Thank you for bringing joy [to] our home, you are the reason why I smile when we wake up.”
“You continue to inspire me [every day] and I just love celebrating life with you. So proud of you my love! I love you forever.”

The couple’s Christian wedding last Feb. 20, 2020 came as a shock not only to fans but also to family. The secret union was met with disapproval by Geronimo’s mother Divine, who reportedly confronted the couple and guests during the wedding reception.
The pop star’s bodyguard also claimed that he was punched by Guidicelli in a scuffle after the wedding. The actor denied punching anyone. The bodyguard received P200,000 in a settlement.
It seems a reconciliation between Geronimo’s parents and the couple has yet to take place, though Guidicelli has expressed that he would want it to happen “one day.”
The “Tala” singer meanwhile has reveled in making decisions for herself, after years of having her parents carefully watch over her career, including her finances. She said in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer last October that “married life has expedited ‘adulting’” for her, and among her new skills are cooking and baking. JB
