PBB alumna Jai Agpangan reveals comatose scare during Christmas season

MANILA, Philippines — “Pinoy Big Brother” alumna Jai Agpangan has revealed she got the scare of her life as she spent the Christmas season comatose.
In a YouTube vlog uploaded Thursday, one-half of the Agpangan twins Joj and Jai revealed that she experienced non-stop vomiting while preparing a Christmas feast on Dec. 24.
“Bigla ako nag-stop mag-cook and then sumusuka ako like 20 times,” Jai said.
(I suddenly stopped cooking and I was vomiting like 20 times.)
Jai then recalled that instead of calling a doctor, she asked her younger sister Jasper to call the masseuse instead.
“Kasi ako, honestly kami ni Joj matiisin kasi kami eh. Hanggat kaya namin hindi naman namin sasabihin, hindi naman kami magre-reklamo,” she said as to why she did not opt to see a doctor first.
(Because Joj and I, we’re very patient. We won’t tell if we can handle it, we don’t complain.)
However, while she was having her massage, Jai said she suddenly passed out. This prompted her grandmother to ask help from her neighbor—who is a doctor.
“Kinukuhanan na ako ng blood pressure I cannot (sic) breathe and nagse-seizure na ako,” she said.
(They were checking my blood pressure, I couldn’t breathe and I was having seizures.)
“Grabe yung nangyari sa akin, na-coma ako [nung] 24, 25, 26 tapos 27 ako nag-wake up daw,” Jai added.
(What happened to me was serious, I was in a coma on [Dec.] 24,25, 26 and then I woke up on the 27th.)
“Di ko alam na NGT [nasogastric tube] lang yung food ko tapos parang lumbar tap ako kasi akala nila parang meningitis,”
(I did not know that they were feeding me through an NGT and a lumbar tap was performed on me because they thought I had some sort of meningitis.)
Jai, then teary-eyed, was thankful that she survived it.
“I was so scared, alam ko na di ko kaya (I know that I couldn’t handle it) because I know I have a purpose pa,” she said.
“Grabe sa mga nag-support sa akin, I thank you all kasi hindi ko ito makakayanan talaga kung ako lang,” she added.

Jai, along with Joj, were finalists in the “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4” back in 2012.
