MANILA, Philippines — After being accused of being the masked man holding a “walis tambo” during the Capitol Hill riot in Washington that erupted this week, poet and rock icon Dong Abay on Saturday revealed that he will file cyber libel charges against those who tagged his alleged involvement.

This is to inform the public that I'm pursuing a cyber libel case to be administered by a U.S. lawyer against Gemma Nemenzo and Rodel Rodis for spreading fake news.

“This is to inform the public that I’m pursuing a cyber libel case to be administered by a U.S. lawyer against Gemma Nemenzo and Rodel Rodis for spreading fake news,” Abay said.

Rodis is a Filipino-American immigration lawyer, who is currently based in San Francisco, California.

It was Rodis who tagged the musician as the masked supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump holding the broom during the riot.

According to Rodis, he got the information from a certain Gemma Nemenzo.

However, friends of Abay attested that the musician was indeed in the Philippines, and was shown to be in a gig for a local radio station, where he sang a rendition of “Redemption Song” by the late Bob Marley.

Abay, meanwhile, took another jab at those who tagged him, saying: “I don’t f*cking care if you’re an immigration lawyer or a [privileged] Filipino-American because I’m a rockstar. #boomer #boomerang.”
