MANILA, Philippines — Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha has revealed that she is now deaf in one ear after battling bacterial meningitis.

The singer made this emotional revelation during the Christmas special of GMA’s singing competition “The Clash,” where she was previously a judge.

“Medyo bingi po, hindi pala medyo, bingi po talaga ang nangyari sa akin dito sa right ko, kaming mag-asawa. Meron po kaming vestibular disfunction kaya kailangan po namin ng alalay lagi,” she said.

She said it was her husband who was first rushed to the ICU on October 9. A day after, she was also brought to the hospital after suffering from body aches and a “pounding headache.”

“Meron lang talaga kaming patuloy na nararamdaman which is ‘yung dizziness, and pagkahina ng pandinig,” she added. “Para kang nasa ilalim ng tubig, so muffled talaga saka high-pitched.”
