WATCH: Prince William, Kate’s kids ask David Attenborough questions on nature
Prince William and Kate released a rare video of their children speaking — to no less than renowned British broadcaster Sir David Attenborough.
George, Charlotte and Louis addressed a question each to the 94-year-old environmentalist in a video released yesterday, Oct. 3 on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Instagram account.
“What animal do you think will be extinct next?” asked Prince George, 7.
The award-winning natural historian gave an optimistic response. “Well let’s hope there won’t be any, because there are lots of things we can do when animals are in danger of extinction.”
He went on to describe his work in protecting mountain gorillas in Africa by airing photos of the rare species on TV, which then launched support from the public toward conservation efforts.
Princess Charlotte, 5, said, “I like spiders. Do you like spiders too?”
“I love spiders! I’m so glad you like them,” replied Attenborough. With enthusiasm, he spoke about how humans tend to be scared of spiders probably due to the creatures’ eight legs, but that there are many wonders to them, like how they build a web.

Two-year-old Prince Louis simply asked, “What animal do you like?”
Attenborough said his favorite animals are monkeys “because they’re such fun” and “don’t bite.” He also reminded the toddler that monkeys cannot be kept as pets, and asked him if he would prefer a puppy or kitten at home.
The young royals met Attenborough in September at Kensington Palace after William and the broadcaster viewed “A Life on Our Planet”, where the latter discussed his life’s work and warns about the climate crisis. JB
