My Ex-Girlfriend launches quarantine-inspired single, music video
MANILA, Philippines — Home-grown pop band My Ex-Girlfriend has dropped a new single and a music video that is anticipated to uplift people’s spirits despite the prevailing public health crisis.
Titled “Sawicide,” the band said its music video was “inspired by all activities and everyday routine that we deal with as we cope with the pandemic.”
The music video, which was uploaded over Youtube on Tuesday, features the band members in their daily routine as “quarantined musicians.”
The band explained the song title as “a pun of ‘sawi’ which in Tagalog means ‘loser’.”

The new song is available for streaming on audio streaming sites like Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer.
