LOOK: Gladys Reyes, Christopher Roxas back in their ‘Mara Clara’ days
Veteran actress Gladys Reyes looked back on his “Mara Clara” days with then childhood sweetheart Christopher Roxas, who eventually became her husband years after the show.
Reyes took to Instagram earlier today, Sept. 17, to treat fans to photos of Eris and Clara, the roles respectively played by Roxas and her back in the classic ’90s drama.
“Throwback Thursday… My childhood sweetheart then @christopherroxas, when he was 12 and I was 14 (kumusta naman ang pigtails ko) [how about are my pigtails],” Reyes said in the post she tagged with “#ErisAndClara.”
The post came with two photos of the then young actors, with Reyes donning her pigtails and Roxas sporting the iconic ’90s “Keempee” hairdo.
Reyes, 43, and Roxas, 41, have now been together for 27 years; 11 years as boyfriend-girlfriend and 16 years as husband and wife.
The two marked their 16th wedding anniversary on Jan. 23 by introducing their catering business “Sommereux,” which is named after the real last name of Roxas.
Fellow actress Camille Prats, meanwhile, shared her admiration for the longtime couple, commenting, “How cuteeeeee!!! How amazing to have met the love of your life early on ate and kuya (hugging and heart emoji) goals!!!”
Reyes and Roxas were co-stars with Judy Ann Santos, who played Mara, in the said ABS-CBN teleserye that ran from 1992 to 1997. The two tied the knot in 2004 and have four children together. /ra
