LISTEN: Chito Miranda creates new song for Neri Naig’s birthday

Chito Miranda composed an original love song to celebrate his wife Neri Naig’s birthday yesterday, Sept. 7.
“Instead of posting a birthday message with a long caption for Neri, I decided to make a song and a simple slideshow for her instead,” he said on his Instagram page on the same day.
The Parokya ni Edgar frontman titled the romantic tune “Smile” and played it over photos of him and Naig together. He also accompanied the sweet lyrics with a slow acoustic guitar melody.

The original piece speaks about their relationship and how Miranda and Naig enjoy each other’s company.
“And you will simply smile at me / And you won’t need no words to say,” Miranda sings in the chorus. “And I would sigh because your smile is all I need to make my day.”
Miranda hopes that Naig feels giddy while listening to the love song, and that she is always safe and healthy.
“Happy Birthday, Ms.Neri!!!” he said. “Mahal na mahal kita (I love you very much).”
Miranda and Naig married twice in December 2014. They first had a civil wedding in a Taguig City restaurant before having a garden ceremony in Tagaytay the day after. They welcomed their son, Miggy, in June 2016. /ra
