Angel Locsin’s ‘Iba Yan’ stages online concert for drag queens affected by quarantine
Angel Locsin’s public service program “Iba Yan” held an online concert yesterday, Aug. 2, to raise funds for drag queens whose livelihood was affected by the lockdown.
The program live-streamed the entire event, titled “Kinang”, on its Facebook page on the same day. The concert featured performances from local drag queens of the LGBTQIA+ community in colorful costumes.
Comedian Negi hosted the show, which featured numbers from drag queens such as Racing Chat and Precious Paula Nicole. Racing Chat lip-synched to Roselle Nava’s “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita” while Precious Paula Nicole impersonated Regine Velasquez while belting out the lyrics of “Araw-Gabi”.
Following the virtual event, Negi announced that the effort was able to collect P100,000. Among the donors were TV hosts Boy Abunda and Vice Ganda.
Locsin later took to Twitter to thank those who watched the concert and donated to the cause.
