Neri Naig remembers fulfilled dream of owning cafe, advises aspiring entrepreneurs: ‘Wag mahiyang magbenta’
As Neri Naig remembers the time when she was still aspiring to open her own cafe, the entrepreneur advised others to act on their dreams as she did and urged them to not be ashamed of their product.
Naig, wife of Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, shared with fans her Facebook post that she made two years ago on July 11, 2018, pLwhen Neri’s Cafe was still only in her mind.
“Ano ang pinakacomfort food niyo? Yung tipong kahit araw araw ay kaya nyong kainin? Wala lang, nangangarap lang ako na magkaroon ng Neri’s Cafe, hehe!” she said then.
(What is your favorite comfort food? The type that you can eat every day? It’s nothing, I am just dreaming here of opening a Neri’s Cafe, hehe!)
“Habang nagpapahinga ako ngayon at masama ang pakiramdam ko eh nangangarap ako dito, hehe! Walang masamang mangarap,” Naig added.

“Nagsimula sa isang pangarap. Pero kailangan nating kumilos para eto’y matupad (It started with a dream. But we should act in order to fulfill it),” Naig said on Instagram today.

Naig also noted that while her cafe is temporarily closed amid the pandemic, she will be making the establishment a pickup point for her other products, Neri’s Gourmet Tuyo and Vibrant Coffee.
“Maghanap tayo ng ways para makabawi. Wag mahiyang magbenta online o magdeliver. Hindi mo mabubusog ang pamilya mo kapag mahihiya ka o feeling mo pagtatawanan ka ng mga kakilala mo dahil nagbebenta ka ‘LANG,'” she noted.
(Find other ways to make money. Do not be ashamed of selling online or delivering. You will not be able to feed your family if you will be ashamed or if you feel that others are laughing at you because you are “only” a seller.)
“Dati pinagtatawanan ako dahil di raw ako sumikat bilang artista kaya bumagsak na lang daw sa pagtitinda ng tuyo, haha!” Naig added.
(They used to laugh at me before, saying I only resorted to selling tuyo because I did not gain success as an actress, haha!)
Naig then noted that because of selling tuyo, she has been able to invest in several other businesses and properties.
“Sipag at tyaga talaga. Kahit maliit o malaki ang puhunan mo, kung di ka masipag at wala kang tyaga, wala rin. Sayang ang pera mo,” the entrepreneur stressed.
(Hard work and patience really. Whether your capital is big or small, if you do not work hard or persevere, nothing will happen. Your money will be wasted.)
“Kung nakaya ko, mas kaya mo at kakayanin pa. Wag mawalan ng pag-asa (If I did it, you will more likely be able to do so too. Don’t lose hope),” she added.
Other than Neri’s Cafe and her gourmet tuyo, some of Naig’s many business ventures include Neri’s Cottage, Neri’s Not-So-Secret Garden, Neri’s Bakeshop and the Miranda Resthouse, which she co-runs with Chito. /ra
