After going on a 30-day intermittent fasting (IF) challenge, veteran actress Alice Dixson has finally seen some results and is now sharing her journey to fans.

The former beauty queen laid down the several changes she felt throughout the practice through a YouTube vlog she posted last Saturday, June 13.

“I like the feeling of intermittent fasting because hindi ako masyadong, sobrang busog or felt heavy throughout the day, also because wala akong restrictions on what to eat, kumbaga pwede akong kumain ng anything that I wanted,” she explained.

(I like the feeling of intermittent fasting because I did not feel too full or heavy throughout the day, and also because I did not have restrictions on what to eat, so I was free to eat anything that I wanted.)

“Next was I was able to control the sense of my hunger pangs. Kumbaga ‘pag nagugutom ako, hindi ko naman pala kailangan mang-away ng ibang tao or have a feeling na mamamatay ako kapag hindi ako kumain,” she added.

(I realized that whenever I am hungry, I no longer needed to get cranky on others and I no longer felt like I was going to die if I do not eat.)

Dixson also noted that when she got used to intermittent fasting, she did not feel like she was depriving her body anymore and that she felt lighter while her digestive system was given some rest.

The actress noted, however, that the information and personal observations she shared on her vlog should not be substituted for professional medical advice.

The 16:8 program

Relatively new to IF, Dixson shared that she executed the diet gradually before she was able to reach the 16:8 plan, which gives a person 16 hours of fasting and allows only an eating window of eight hours.

She started with the 13:11 plan, then the 14:10 plan and moved on to the 15:9 plan before reaching the 16:8 plan, which Dixson said is similar to the “after 6 diet” that forbids snacking at night.

Dixson said it took her two weeks to comfortably commit to the 16:8 plan, but admitted that she felt like quitting on the third week of her IF practice.

She said she did not feel a difference back then and that her clothes still fit the same. Fortunately, after seeking the advice of her fitness expert friends, Dixson decided to push through.

“After 30 days, doon niyo pa lang makikita ‘yung benefits. Katulad ko, when I went to my closet and tried on some of my clothes na masikip sakin, aba, nagkasya na pala itong mga ito!” Dixson emphasized.

(After 30 days, that is the only time you will notice the benefits. Like me, when I went to my closet and tried on some of my clothes that did not fit me before, I found out that I can already wear them again.) JB
