LOOK: Mikael Daez explains why he gave ‘iceberg’ engagement ring to Megan Young

Mikael Daez and Megan Young really do have a knack for “non-traditional choices” for their wedding, held last Saturday, Jan. 25. One thing that further shows this was through a blue-stoned ring Daez gave Young, instead of a usual diamond piece.

The newly-married husband explained the reason behind the blue engagement ring, as seen on his Instagram page yesterday, Jan. 26.

He first noted that their wedding day was celebrated in “a place [that] holds a lot of significance for [him and Young],” adding that “it was SO MUCH FUN!!”.

“Admittedly, we did things in our own way and I think my engagement ring to Bonez is a good example of our non-traditional choices,” Daez said.

The actor explained that he chose the blue-stoned ring because Young requested for “a rock with the color of an iceberg.” He also accompanied his post with a close-up photo of the said ring, showing the blue stone sitting atop a silver ring.

“[B]uti hindi rainbow hiningi niya, baka nahirapan ako,” he joked. (Good thing she did not ask for [a] rainbow, I might have had a hard time.)

Prior to becoming husband and wife, Daez and Young have been a couple for nine years. They only publicly confirmed their relationship in 2017. JB
