No.13 lucky for Orlando Bloom

/ 12:25 AM January 18, 2020

British actor Orlando Bloom, who achieved fame as Legolas in “The Lord of the Rings” film series and as Will Turner in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, turned 43 on Jan. 13. He posted on Instagram: “13 is lucky for some, my day of birth, and looking into the year ahead, it only gets better. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.”

Bloom, who has been with American singer Katy Perry since 2016, reportedly announced early this month that “he had inked a new first-look deal with Amazon Studios.”

In the deal, Orlando “will create television and film projects that will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories.”

A rarity

American talk show host Jimmy Fallon wrote on Instagram: “Her album is #Rare, but it’s actually well done @selenagomez,” as he “photobombs” the singer’s selfie. Released through Interscope Records, “Rare” is the American singer’s third solo studio album. The album’s lead single, “Lose You to Love Me,” was released in October and topped the Billboard Hot 100, “becoming Gomez’s first No. 1 single in the United States.”

Fallon took over the hosting job for the long-running “Tonight” show when Jay Leno retired. The show suffered a major drop in ratings when Fallon playfully mussed Donald Trump’s hair during a 2016 elections guest appearance. But it seems to be regaining the ground it lost to “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
