It will be very hard, but I will do it for him,” said actress Dimples Romana, who claimed she would quit show biz if her husband would ask her to.

“He is my No. 1 priority,” Dimples told the Inquirer Entertainment during her launch as the brand ambassador of JuanLife personal accident insurance. “You all think that because I’m talkative and have a strong personality, that I’m also like Daniela. The truth is, my relationship with my husband wouldn’t last this long if I behaved like her at home.”

Dimples was referring to Daniela Mondragon, her iconic character in the long-running ABS-CBN drama “Kadenang Ginto.” She has been married to businessman Boyet Ahmee since 2003. They have two kids, Callie, 16, and Alonzo, 3.

“I keep saying, you can explain all you want to people, but if you don’t walk the talk, they won’t believe you. I feel happy when people see us striving hard for the family, putting our children first, making sure that if we encounter problems in our marriage, we will both want to solve them,” Dimples pointed out.

“My only true legacy in life are my children. My work as an actress only comes second to it. I always consider what my children will say about me. Will Callie be able to say with pride that I’m her mom? These days, I have nothing more to ask. If my family tells me they need me at home and asks me to quit, I’d willingly do it.”

When asked to share her current state of mind, Dimples said: “I sometimes wake up feeling so overwhelmed that I want to cry. I don’t know if I should say ‘thank you’ or if I should worry because there’s so many things happening all at the same time.”

Only last Wednesday, Boyet, who recently had a throat operation, was rushed to the hospital after he woke up vomiting blood. On her social media accounts, Dimples posted: “I thought I’d lose this one today.” Boyet is now in stable condition.

Dimples then added that from her experiences, she also learned that “one should never limit the power of the Lord to bless you… so I calm myself by spending time with my kids, by playing or watching TV with them.”

Since she already has a teenage daughter, Dimples was asked to comment on the issue relating to the availability of condoms in high schools .

“I appreciate that the DepEd (Department of Education) is considering a program like that, but I think a child’s first lessons on sex education should be given at home, because that’s his or her comfort zone. It’s at home that you’re free to say anything and ask what you need to know,” she pointed out.

With Callie, Dimples said she was not worried. “She has grown into a very kind young lady. I also know that she has a good head over her shoulders. I trust her. I see her and I know that this is still far from her mind.”

Dimples said she was always attuned to Callie’s emotions, confidently adding that she could feel it if something was off. “If you know your child and the kind of home you run, then you don’t fear these things. I’m so proud of her. I was just looking at her social media account recently because I was told by many of my parent friends to always check on them—that’s how you will know your children,” she advised.
