Coco Martin pens heartfelt message to late actor Eddie Garcia

MANILA, Philippines — Actor Coco Martin, who recently worked alongside the late Eddie Garcia in the popular television show “Ang Probinsyano,” penned a touching message to his “Lo” and thanked him for the time they spent together.

Hours after the news of Garcia’s death was announced Thursday, Martin shared three photos on Instagram, two of the late actor and one of them together.

“[‘Di ko] mapaliwanag ang lungkot at sakit na nararamdaman namin ngayon. Iniisip ko na lang po na ang Diyos ang may kagustuhan ng lahat ng nangyayari para sa atin,” Martin wrote.

The actor expressed gratitude for the fun moments and laughter they shared despite their age difference.

“Maraming salamat sayo Lo sa lahat ng ating mga kwentuhan at tawanan at sa ating mga masasayang mga oras na magkasama. malayo man ang edad natin pero tinanggap mo ako bilang kaibigan mo,” he said in the caption.

“Hanggang sa muling pagkikita natin Lo mabuhay ka at alam ko nandito ka lang sinusubaybayan mo kami. hindi namin kakalimutan ang lahat ng mga pangaral mo para sa amin isakang huwaran ng mabuting tao at mahusay na artista at direktor Mahal na mahal ka namin Lo!!! R.I.P.,” he added.

Other celebrities also took to Instagram to remember the late Filipino film and TV icon.

Actress Agot Isidro, who said working with Garcia is “pure joy” and an “utmost honor,” shared a photo of them together.

“You were a generous, fun loving, tireless soldier who was always excited to come to work everyday, sharing your genius with everyone,” Isidro said of Garcia.

Actress Nikki Valdez, who worked with the late actor in the primetime drama series “Sana Bukas pa ang Kahapon,” shared a photo taken in September 2014.

“Tito Eddie, tingnan mo ngiti ko dito. I will not forget this day dahil ito yung buong araw na tayo magkawork pero grabe ako sa pagkatulala kasi di ako makapaniwala na magkatrabaho tayo,” Valdez wrote.
