Fellow chefs and dear friends Eric Ripert and Jose Andres declared June 25 as “Bourdain Day” in honor of the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.

June 25 is also Bourdain’s date of birth and the two chefs wanted to make it an occasion for all of the “Parts Unknown” host’s fans to share memories of him.

In the video, Ripert and Andres invited fans to “cheer” to Bourdain wherever they may be in the world.

“June is a very important month,” Ripert said. “On June 25th, we all are going to celebrate the birthday of our dear friend and beloved Anthony Bourdain… by cheering to Tony, anywhere you want, with anyone you want…”

The announcement was also shared by Bourdain’s second wife, Ottavia Busia, from whom he was separated, on her own social media account.

Bourdain passed away at the age of 61 on June 8, 2018, while working on an episode of “Parts Unknown” in Strasbourg, France. He apparently died of suicide. He is survived by Busia and their daughter Ariane, who was 11 years old at the time of his death.  /ra
