WATCH: New ‘The Lion King’ trailer
MANILA, Philippines — The “The Lion King” remake seemingly promises a faithful adaptation to the 1994 film as its first full-length trailer released by Disney syncs with the original.
Disney dropped the new trailer on Wednesday night via its Youtube channel and other social media platforms.
Scar, Mufasa’s brother and former heir to the throne, voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor, narrates the trailer.
“Life’s not fair, is it, my little friend? While some are born to feast, others spend their lives in the dark begging for scraps,” Scar says.

“Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give,” Mufasa, voiced by James Earl Jones, says.
It ends with some comedic relief as Timon, voiced by Billy Eichner, and Pumbaa, voiced by Seth Rogen, sing “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
The film, featuring the voices of Donald Glover as Simba and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, will open in cinemas on July 19, 2019. /cbb
