Clarke, in particular, shared that portraying Daenerys sharpened her as an actor and forced her to find the heights Dany experiences within herself.

“I started this job when I was 22 and I am not 22 anymore,” a beaming Clarke said. “Daenerys is a tapestry of my life.”

Clarke also recalled her first time on the set, when she fell off her horse while leading a horde of Dothraki survivors.

While filming in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Clarke had to brave harrowing rains in a bamboo field while trying to act still and keeping herself from falling off the horse.

“And I’m hanging on dear life, and I just remember shouting, ‘Please stop filming!” she said.

Daenerys, who started off meek and hesitant, transformed through the seasons as the strong, dedicated and cunning Mother of Dragons.

“That’s the thing about Dany. Every season she gets better,” Clarke said.

The 32-year-old actress also gave a shout-out to her co-star Iain Glen, who played Jorah Mormont, Dany’s loyal companion.

“There’s an ease that I get when I’m acting with Iain Glen, ‘cause he’s been my pal the whole time,” she said.

Clarke went on to praise Glen as an actor and mentor, who helped her as a person on “really real level.”

Missing the whole cast and crew

Like any other cast member and crew from Thrones, Emilia said she will truly miss being with them.

“We can fun, we can take the piss out of each other and we can support each other.”

She called the entire production a family where there’s no ‘ego’ and [people] just [being] in it together.

“This show, Game of Thrones has set me free,” Emilia said. “I’ve been able to play this incredibly strong woman, where I could have easily never thought of the places I’ve had to go with her,” she added.
