Indie band Ben&Ben topbills musical film for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019

MANILA, Philippines— Indie folk band Ben&Ben, with actors Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia, will headline the musical film “LSS (Last Song Syndrome): The Movie,” which is one of the first three finalists in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 slated for September.

Directed by Jade Castro and produced under Globe Studios, “LSS…” will revolve around the story of Zak and Sarah and the huge following of the band’s music.

According to the film’s synopsis posted on Facebook by the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), Sarah, “an aspiring musician,” and Zak, “a yearning son,” find “themselves in a series of almost-but-not-quite romantic encounters as they follow an uprising indie-folk band.”

“Two struggling dreamers in their 20s discover what it means to grow up as they experience the joy and pain of love and loss accompanied by the music of Ben & Ben,” it added.

Completing the top three film finalists, the PPP announced, are “Cuddle Weather, directed by Rod Marmol, and “The Panti Sisters” by Perci Intalan.

The annual film festival will be held from Sept. 12 to 18 in cinemas nationwide.  /ra
