Paolo Ballesteros mourns deaths of pet cats

Actor-comedian-host Paolo Ballesteros lamented the deaths of his pet cats, Sam and Lily, who both died just days apart from each other.
Ballesteros first took to social media to share a tribute video for Sam last March 11.
“Thank you sa pagtabi mo saken matulog for the past month, when I’m the loneliest,” the heartbroken Ballesteros wrote via Instagram. “I love you Sammy.”

In another post, he shared a photo of Sam lying peacefully inside a heart-shaped box.

Days later, Ballesteros took to Instagram again and shared a tribute video, this time for his other cat, Lily.
“Say hi to Sam for us,” he wrote on March 11. “I love you Lily…”

Ballesteros also placed Lily in a box where she was adorned with white flowers.
“Die beautiful para sa aming ultimate pakgirl,” he said. “I love you Lily.”

Ballesteros explained in an Instagram Story on March 11 that Sam had urinary tract infection (UTI). His bladder apparently got swollen, making it impossible for him to pee.
“Sakit na nya yon before pa,” he said. “He has his own separate food from the rest. His bladder got swollen kaya di na mailabas wiwi. Hindi na umabot sa vet.”

Lily, meanwhile, just gave birth to kittens a few days ago via cesarean section. She was already recovering in the clinic when her heartbeat weakened. She was transferred to the intensive care unit, but did not make it.
“She was ok naman na and recovering sa clinic,” said Ballesteros. “This morning after she fed her kittens, humina daw heartbeat so nilagay sa ICU. But she didn’t survive na.”
