Kyline on expressing love via social media
One of the busiest teens in show biz is “Inagaw na Bituin” star Kyline Alcantara, who regularly appears in GMA 7 shows like “Sunday PinaSaya” and “Studio 7.”
Kyline, also a singer, has a breakup ditty, “Fake Love,” whose video has gotten over 1.4 million views, to date. The song, cowritten by Mikee Misalucha and Vince Lucero, is about a girl who’s gotten wise to an ex-lover’s tricks.
The song has struck a chord with listeners. Kyline understands the power of music, and counts one romantic tune by an Irish band to have such a moving quality.
“[Snow Patrol’s] ‘Chasing Cars’—just listen to the lyrics and you’ll get lost in it,” the 16-year-old artist tells us. “The song is really relatable.”
On how teens her age differ from previous generations when it comes to courting rituals, the actress-singer says, “The traditional ways include serenading and writing love letters. Nowadays, there are a lot of ways to communicate with someone, especially with social media. But I still believe that nothing compares to face-to-face interactions.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
