MANILA, Philippines — A young Filipino dance group has advanced to “The Duels” of American dance competition “World of Dance.”

VPeepz, composed of dancers from 11 to 16 years old, impressed judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo with their dance routine of Ludacris’ “How Low.”

After their performance, Hough asked why they flew all the way from the Philippines to the US to join the competition.

“I guess we just want to show the world that even though we’re all different, I can say that there’s unity in diversity … dance really brought us together,” a member of VPeepz answered.

The young dancer’s answer moved Lopez who said, “To hear your mission statement from your mouth, from how you feel and what you’re all about, to me, this is why I have so much hope for the future of this world.”

“These kids are 11 to 16 years old. And to hear them talking about diversity and unity and love and class, it’s beyond. I wasn’t thinking that when I was 5th grade. But now you know the state that the world is in and you guys are honestly going to change the world and make it a better place,” Lopez added.

Meanwhile, Hough was all praises for their performance: “It’s so appropriate that you guys came out in like fireman outfits because that was absolute fire. That was insane.”

“Just like the footwork, the speed, just how in sync you all were, how sharp, how you hit everything, the formation changes, everything was so on point. It was so strong,” Hough added.

Ne-Yo, likewise, complimented the group’s synchronization. He said, “Super strong formations. Super clean moves. Synchronicity — ridiculous. I say it a lot, dancing with one mind, everybody moving at the same time, on the same accord, you guys got that in spades.”

VPeepz received an average score of 90.3 from the three judges, advancing them to the competition’s next round dubbed as “The Duels.”

The third season of “World of Dance” premiered last February 26, 2019. The winner of the competition will receive a grand prize of one million dollars. /cbb
