Iza Calzado honors mom she lost 17 years ago: ‘I’m now living the life you always wanted’
Iza Calzado became sentimental as she remembered her long-departed mother, Mary Ann Ussher, who died 17 years ago.
“Mama, 17 years ago I lost you,” Calzado wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Nov. 21. “From that day on, I have felt your energy guiding me through life and helping me achieve the dreams you had for me and for yourself.”
“I am now living the life you always wanted, Mama,” Calzado proudly told her mother. “How bittersweet that I have everything you always wanted for us but not have you by my side to share this with me.”

“I see myself in you in this photo and when I look at myself sometimes, I see you,” she said as she noted the striking resemblance. “I sure got my pilya (naughty) side from you.”
