Iza Calzado lovingly remembers dad Lito on 7th death anniversary

Nov. 11 marks the death anniversary of Lito Calzado, the dad of actress Iza Calzado. The television director and choreographer succumbed to liver cancer back in 2011 after years of battling with the disease. He was 65.
Iza paid homage to the memory of her dad Lito by taking to social media on the day of his death anniversary, yesterday. There, she shared a throwback picture of the two of them together, with Lito giving his daughter a hug.
“Has it really been 7 years since I felt your warm embrace, heard your infectious laugh, watched your stellar dance moves?” Iza wrote on Instagram on Nov. 11.

Iza is set to marry fiancé British-Filipino businessman Ben Wintle this December in an intimate beach wedding. Just last October, Iza jetted off to Bali, Indonesia with her bridal army for one last bash before they send her off to married life.
For Iza, however, the thought of walking down the aisle without her dad is a thing most painful, as she stated, “It hurts so much to know that you’re not beside me especially because I am finally getting married, something you always wished for and wanted to witness.”
As she reminisced, she also said that all she desires is to have her dad hug her again — but on one condition: only in her dreams.
“I miss you so much and all I want is to have you hug me like this again. Please do it in my dreams. Pero, ‘Tay, dreams lang ha, ” Iza quipped in jest. “Wag mo muna ako ipakuha kay God please baka masyado mo kasi damdamin na miss kita.” (Just in my dreams, dad. Please don’t ask God to take me yet, should you be missing me so badly.)
She added, “Happy 7th in heaven, Dad. Love you!” JB
