LOOK: Aiko Melendez escorts BF Jay Khonghun as he files his candidacy for Zambales vice governor

Aiko Melendez escorted her boyfriend, current Subic Mayor Jay Khonghun, as he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the upcoming 2019 elections on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Melendez was all smiles while beside Khonghun, who filed his COC for vice governor of Zambales, as seen in her Instagram post.

The actress also lauded Khonghun for being a public servant for 18 years now. “Hinog na po kung [tutuusin],” she said. “Mag ikot po kayo sa Subic para malaman nyo din po marami po sya nagawa.”

According to Melendez, Khonghun filed his candidacy yesterday at 3 p.m. The actress said “Am the Proudest!” on sealing his candidacy.

Khonghun has served three terms as Subic mayor since 2010, Radyo Inquirer 990 reported. Meanwhile, Melendez too was a public official herself, having been a councilor for the 2nd District of Quezon City from 2001 until 2010. She was supposed to run again for the same position, as per the Philippine Entertainment Portal, but chose to defer in support for Khonghun’s election bid. JB
