Kris Aquino shares her autoimmune disease story

Kris Aquino opened up on Thursday about her autoimmune disease with a video posted on her Instagram account.

The Instagram video showed bruising and swelling all over her body. She said her urticaria (skin rashes) started in 2013, but thought it’s just allergic reactions and called it “hives.”

After her drastic weight loss, the Queen of All Media explained this disease saying “the immune system mistakes part of your body — like your joints or skin — as foreign.”

Aquino also said that only less than 1 percent of the world’s population is afflicted with this disease.

“Most suffer through it for 1-5 years. Some suffer through it for decades- i fall under that category…” she added.

Despite being diagnosed with this disease, Aquino remains positive about her condition: “I believe everything happens as part of God’s plan for our lives. I have the platforms to raise awareness about this medical challenge… Thank you to all who messaged me with love and prayers.”

Aquino recently flew to Singapore to seek medical attention after losing 15 pounds in a span of a month. She revealed it was because of stress over a business betrayal which she now plans to take to court. /muf
