Bettinna Carlos is a supermom to her daughter, Amanda Lucia. It is no surprise then that the actress is willing to do anything to ensure the welfare of Gummy — including becoming her personal primary educator.

A day before the start of their homeschool, Carlos and Gummy sat down together to discuss what Gummy’s goals were, through photos she shared via Instagram last Sunday, Sept. 2. Carlos was told by their advisor that it is a must to have Gummy write down all the things she wants to learn.

Gummy followed her mother and wrote down the topics she’s interested in learning. Gummy seeks to learn more about the Filipino language and the Philippines — she wants to understand more Filipino words as well as to learn more about Filipino food, “national stuff” and people.

She also desires to broaden her knowledge of God by learning the Bible and memorizing Bible verses. She wishes to find the answers to her two questions: “Why did God make me?” and “Why does God love me so much?”

What made Carlos laugh, however, was her daughter’s last goal — “My goal is not to talk when mommy’s talking.”

During the start of their homeschooling on Monday, Sept. 3, Carlos prepared a filling breakfast for her daughter. At this point, she revealed one of the reasons why she opted to homeschool Gummy: “…I wanted to homeschool, so I can serve @gummybites7 properly and we can have a nice sit-down unhurried breakfast. With the traffic in the last school year, she would eat brekky in the car. It saddened me.”

The mother and daughter made it a point to lay down their homeschool rules. After both deciding the rules they are both to follow, Carlos and Gummy sealed the deal with their signatures.

Their homeschool session started at 9 a.m. and ended at around 2 p.m. Carlos uploaded a photo of themselves smiling in front of their clear glass whiteboard where the topics they have discussed so far were written.

Of course, physical education is a must for Bettinna Carlos. Imploring the aid of Gummy’s Yaya Teacher Mapsy as her daughter’s temporary swimming coach, Gummy sharpens her swimming skills.

Hands-on learning is another one of Carlos’ teaching style.

After teaching Gummy about the food pyramid, Carlos brought her daughter to the supermarket yesterday. Gummy was then asked to pick a food for each of the food pyramid’s tiers.
