‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ bit actor found dead in Cavite

A bit actor in the television series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” was found dead in his house in Silang Cavite, a police report said on Thursday.

Police said the victim, Arnold Corpuz, 38, had been out of contact with his relatives since Monday which prompted them to enter his house in Barangay Biga 1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Silang police chief Supt. Resty Soriano on Thursday said Corpuz was last seen alive on Sunday evening buying drinks from a convenience store in Silang. A security camera, however, only showed Corpuz stepping out of the car, while his still unidentified companions stayed inside the vehicle.

Soriano said Corpuz’s family and friends had been looking for him since Monday, prompting a sibling living nearby to force open his house on Wednesday.  The victim was found dead wearing only his underwear and with stab wounds in the back, chest, and arm.

The police recovered a pair of shears near the body and a knife on the third floor of the victim’s home “that may have been used as the weapon (for the killing),” Soriano said.

Police said Corpuz may had been with two people in his home on Sunday evening based on the way the furniture and the wine glasses were left. The police said Corpuz’s phone went missing.

Aside from his acting stints, Corpuz was also involved in a networking business.

Corpuz played the role of a mayor who was ambushed in “Ang Probinsyano” starred by Coco Martin, according to a report from dzMM. He also reportedly played bit roles in other television shows.

Police said the case is still under investigation.  /muf
