Pokwang and Ogie Alcasid, two beloved comedians of Philippine show biz, both marked their birthdays on Aug. 27. The doting mom of two turned 45, while the timeless Alcasid is now 51 years old.
Pokwang’s American partner, Lee O’Brian, was first to greet her on social media. O’Brian took to his Instagram last Aug. 26 to write a short but sweet birthday message to his partner of three years.
O’Brian’s post showed a picture of him and Pokwang looking all glammed up for a special event. He also shared a video clip of him greeting his great love.
“Wishing the happiest birthdays to my pangga, my babe, Ms. Pokie, Marietta,” O’Brian said in the video clip. “Wishing you a very happy birthday babe, wishing you an amazing year ahead, wishing you everything in life: love happiness success lots of food, lots of whatever, you fill in the blanks.”

“I want you to know I love you and I’m glad you’re in my life,” O’Brian continued. “I hope you enjoy your day, eat lots of cake and have just an amazing year, and I can’t wait to spend it with you, I love you babe happy birthday.”
Pokwang, meanwhile, took to her Instagram on Aug. 27 to share some scenes from her birthday bash to her fans. In one video, fellow comedians K Brosas and Reynold “Pooh” Garcia can be seen playing around with baby Malia, Pokwang’s daughter with O’Brian. In another clip, Pokwang’s guests can be seen singing her a happy birthday before she makes a wish and blows out the candles on her cake.
Apart from a bouquet of flowers and balloons, Pokwang got a baby poodle as a birthday gift.
Pokwang, too, extended her gratitude to all those who made her day special despite feeling a bit sick. “Thank you so much @kbrosas @pooh_tik @hot_chokoleit @itsmejoel_v kahit di maganda pakiramdam ko.”

Meanwhile, Alcasid took to his Instagram last Aug. 26, the day before his birthday, to give praise to the Lord. Alcasid shared a Bible verse that read: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain…”

Some stars took to Alcasid’s post to wish him a happy birthday, one of whom was actress Aiko Melendez.
“Happy birthday pre,” wrote Melendez. “God bless you more and more.”
Richard Gomez, too, commented on Alcasid’s post. “Happy birthday, bro! All the best to you and the best of health!”
Meanwhile, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez took to her own Instagram to greet her hubby. She shared an old video of Alcasid dancing and messing around in their room while she laughed in the background.
“Sa taong laging nagpapasaya sa mundo ko @ogiealcasid,” wrote Velasquez last Aug. 26. “Happy Happy Birthday Mahal na mahal kita!!!!!”

Alcasid’s daughter, singer Leila Alcasid, also greeted him but kept all the sentimental stuff to her personal letter to her father.
