Hard to believe that in a world almost completely mobilized by the internet, adverse reactions such as Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS) or an “allergy” to certain frequencies such as wireless connectivity or Wi-Fi actually exists.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes the existence of such odd health scares. However, the group notes that its symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, heart palpitations, and tingling sensations are not part of just a single syndrome.

As the world progresses, many reported cases of health risks associated with electromagnetic hypersensitivity have been recorded. This hazard has forced some of these reported cases to change their way of living to the point of completely isolating themselves from the world just to avoid the adverse effects of EHS.

This odd health risk has inspired the story of Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2018 entry “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa WiFi” starred by Kapamilya stars Sue Ramirez, Jameson Blake and Marcus Paterson.

The story revolves around a girl named Norma, a typical millennial addicted to the internet and social media. She has been so accustomed to living in the virtual world when suddenly she experiences symptoms of electromagnetic hypersensitivity. She was then forced to live in isolation making it hard for her and her boyfriend to communicate regularly.
