Jennica Garcia on the ‘pains’ of striving to be the best mom: ‘Okay lang magkamali’
Like all moms, Jennica Garcia knows the struggle of trying to be the best mother. There may be times when she commits mistakes, but she assures that this is okay.
The actress and natural-parenting advocate shared what her life is now after giving birth to her second daughter on Instagram Friday.
Garcia first shared that she gets commended by netizens for being an “amazing” mom due to her posts. But she realized that maybe it makes others feel bad about themselves.
Getting real, she said that since her baby was born, Garcia understood that her first daughter, Mori, was going through a transition like her. This she realized when she suddenly raised her voice toward the tot.
“Mori naman, sana makinig ka (I hope you listen, Mori)!” Garcia told her daughter rather bluntly one time. Upon realizing her action, the 28-year-old cried and apologized. She added: “She is also in transition. I am the adult, I should have known.”

She said that she was successful at first, but that when she succumbed to sleep while doing it in a side lying position, Garcia bared that she accidentally dropped the jar, which fell on her days-old baby’s face.
“Thank God, she did not cry and that she is fine,” she said. “For some reason parang wala siyang naramdaman (she didn’t feel anything) because she was still breastfeeding as if nothing happened, but I am sure natamaan siya (she got hit).”
Despite what happened, she said that her post served as a reminder: “Kasi Inay, okay lang yun na nagkamali ka.”
And to those who praise her for being a role-model mom, she said: “Wag mo kukumpara yung mga Nanay sa social media (Don’t compare moms on social media).”
“Ganon talaga, gaya ko ang ipopost ko yung masasaya pero di ibig sabihin nun laging masaya,” Garcia went on. “Ganon naman talaga ang buhay.”
(That’s how it is, my posts don’t always mean that my life is always happy. That’s how life goes.)
The actress welcomed her second child with actor Alwyn Uytingco on Monday. The two have been married since 2014. /ra
