LOOK: The original ‘Avengers’ come together to get matching tattoos
Marvel’s famous heroes once again assembled — not to save the world, but to get tattoos.
Some of the original Avengers cast got matching tattoos to celebrate the success of the latest movie “Avengers: Infinity War”, which broke box office records.
Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, revealed that five out of the original six Avengers got inked. Downey’s made the revelation in an Entertainment Weekly report released on Monday, May 7.
The actor showed off his tattoo, done by New York-based tattoo artist Joshua Lord, on his Instagram page yesterday, May 8.
Lord posted a photo of him with Downey, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson. He wrote, “Oh man!!! I can finally post this!!! It’s revealed by the man himself! Avengers Assemble!!! Thank you all for the best time ever.”

When it was Downey, Renner and Hemsworth’s turn, Lord flew to Los Angeles to get the job done. Downey even joked that he and Renner “bullied” Hemsworth into getting the tattoo.
But one opted out of the idea — Mark Ruffalo. Instead, the tattoo artist suddenly became an “Avenger” when he got his own tattoo from the gang.
“[E]ach one of us drew a line on the artist with his own tattoo gun and it was a total massacre,” Downey told the magazine. “Each of us contributed to giving the tattoo artist the sixth tattoo that he designed for us.” Katrina Hallare/JB
